Thinking about building your own Custom Computer

September 13, 2020 by Shane Foster

You want a system that isn’t available from a major manufacture is a good reason.  You want a system you built yourself because that is something you have always wanted to do.  Sure that’s a good reason as well.

Where to start.  Why not watch some online videos.  There are many and obviously you know how to use google or you wouldn’t be reading this page.

Next you need to decide what parts you are going to use.

Are they compatible, will they work together.  That’s good to know.  We recommend using PC Part Picker.  https://pcpartpicker.com/ It’s a great site that will automatically help you make sure that all of your parts will work together.   I don’t recommend using their links to buy the parts but it’s a good place to start.

If you want one of our experienced builders to look over your parts list and make suggestions we offer that for a flat $75.

You can tell us what you want to do with it and any concerns you have and we will give you the benefit of our knowledge and experience.   One thing we see quite often is that when doing your first build you end us spending way more than you need to in order to have a system that does what you want it to.

Once you have all of your parts it’s time to put it together.

Something that often happens on your 1st build or sometimes even on your 10th is it doesn’t work and when that happens what do you do.  You have invested a lot of time and effort and probably a fair amount of money and what do you do now.  Well this is where PC-Help comes in.  Bring it to us and we will help you sort out what the issue is.   Our diagnostic is $50 and we will give you a hand.

If you get all of the parts and decide that you don’t want to build it after all or just don’t have the time we charge a very reasonable $120 build fee.

Keep in mind you can have things go horribly wrong if you don’t get everything exactly correct and anything you break or burn up in the process don’t expect the place you bought it to give you your money back.  Here is a guy that is in the process of experiencing things not going his way for his new build:  https://gfycat.com/anothergoodnaturedkitten

If you haven’t worked with PC-Help before and are wondering if this is a reputable company.

PC-Help’s basic gaming machine is specifically created for FortNite play.  We also sell more powerful refurbished systems that normally start around $550.

We will build you a brand new custom system starting at $995.   Click here to check out our base custom build.
